- Hallelujah chorus by G.F Handel. Usually songs from Handel's 'Messiah'.
- Big Ten Inch by Aerosmith If the bride is a virgin--Only Women Bleed by Alice Cooper White Wedding by Billy Idol Who Let the Dogs Out by the Baja Men
- Lord of the Dance.Very Jolly.Also we had a Cellist play a solo.It was a GREAT day.
- The Lords Prayer Where Charity and Love Prevail Now Thank We All Our God You won't find this in a hymnal but it's very beautiful and certainly fitting for church. Household of Faith. Here we are at the start committing to each other By His word and from our hearts We will be a family in a house that will be a home And with faith we'll build it strong Chorus: We'll build a household of faith That together we can make And when the strong winds blow it won't fall down As one in Him we'll grow and the whole world will know We are a household of faith Now to be a family we've got to love each other At any cost unselfishly And our home must be a place that fully abounds with grace A reflection of His face Chorus Words and Music by Brent Lamb and John Rosasco
- We had 'Lead me heavenly farther lead me' as the first piece of music instead of the bridal march. Any other hymns that are quite happy sounding, ask the vicar to suggest some for you.
- Immortal, Invisible, God Only Wise. .
- Mendelson's march, he wrote i think 14 wedding marches, the most popular one is : http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=pfV8fZK3YGQ
- Do you have any favorite prayers or hymns? Start there. If you can't think of any off the top of your head, go to church and look through the song book or listen to what they're singing during the services. "Oh yeah,I like that one. LOL." Some of my favorite prayers are the Prayer of St Francis, Hail Mary, and the Beatitudes. (Can you tell who is Catholic? LOL.) Since these prayers are also hymns, I wanted to include them in my wedding ceremony. So, what prayers do you like a lot? For the rest, I just asked the church organist what she recommended. She helped me decide where the hymns I like would be most appropriate. We sat at her organ one afternoon for about 30 minutes and she played bits and pieces of various songs. She gave recommendations and I went with the ones that I liked the best.
- Well, if you don't mind doing the same things that everyone else does, then either "The Servant Song" ("Will you let me be your servant") or "They'll Know We Are Christians" are good choices. We're doing "Here I Am", again it's far too obvious and cliche, but there's a reason it's cliche - it was written for an ordination, so it's obviously very appropriate for a wedding. I would also recommend any songs which are particularly meaningful to your tradition - my fiance is Russian Mennonite, so we're doing the crazy arrangement of "Praise God From Whom All Blessings Flow". We're considering "Gather us Together". If we were having communion we might do "Christians Let Us Love One Another". Basically any songs about unity are a great idea, especially if you're from two different faith traditions. Ones about a calling or willingly serving are also a good idea, recognizing that marriage is a vocation.
- my grandparents used a beautiful hymn called O Perfect Love. (i played it at their 50th) Some others could be: Joyful, Joyful We Adore Thee Holy, Holy, Holy As Man And Woman We Were Made For the Beauty of the Earth Lead Us Heavenly Father Lead Us To God be the Glory Jesus, Joy of Our Desiring
