How do I go about getting a listing of brides to be?
I was just thinking of ideas to promote my business. I am a dealer for carlson craft wedding invitations and accessories. I figured if I can get a list of brides to be with their contacts that might work. Thanks for your help in advance. farikacrayton@customizeyourevents.com www.customizeyourevents.com

- you can buy targeted specialized lists based on that criteria from many companies out there that do nothing but collect data, like Choicepoint. I used to work in spam email so we were always looking for lists of people interested in different types of products, and we used Choicepoint.
- I don't know of anywhere information like this would be posted. I'd say go to bridal salons and bridal shows to advertise. You can also take out ads in church papers and local papers. Good luck.
- I would try and connect with the Davids Bridal parent company. They collect (and sell) a lot of information from their customers. I know I've gotten a lot of catalogues since I gave them my info, from a variety of businesses.
- Use Myspace or Facebook and search for those that are engaged. You can then send them emails advertising your services.
- You can try to contact bridal salons, and see if they'll sell you information on their customers (David's Bridal is a bunch of bastards, they do this). Just a word of advice though, I have been solicited constantly since David's sold my info, and not only do I refuse the services of everyone that calls, I advise my friends to stay away as well. These are quality vendors that otherwise would've had our business, but since they purchased my name and called me unsolicitied, I choose not to hire them. There are plenty of other ways to advertise that don't involve what amounts to bridal telemarketing, invest in some of those as well.
- Wow, please don't do that. There's nothing worse than signing up for something and then finding out that company has sold my info to another company. I would advertise in the local papers and create a great website.
- A raffle works. go to local businesses and setup a raffle box that also promotes your buisness, have them deposit a slip with their name, the date of the wedding, telephone and address and whether or not they have invitations already. The prize can be something simple like a gift card and now you have yourself contact number you can start calling and asking to meet with them.
- please advertise in a way that doesn't harass people. I don't know if you've ever taken marketing classes but one of the first things we learned was that spam emails, phone calls and mail DOES NOT work, think about when you go to your junk mail, you do a quick scan to see if anyone you know accidentally ended up there and then hit empty. It would be a waste of your advertising dollars. Try facebook, you can pay (small amounts) for advertising on there. They target who you want. For instance: since I changed my relationship status to engaged every ad I get is for wedding stuff. Go to birdal shows, and set up a booth. Maybe do a small raffle or ask people if they want to sign up for updates and get their names and emails that way. At least then the people know what they are getting themselves into.
- As a future bride to be, if someone contacts me unsolicited (thank you David's Bridal as mentioned above) I have no interest in talking with them. If I don't hear about you on my own or by friends I'm not going to trust you to handle any part of my and my fiances "special day." If you have to resort to resort to spam that just tells me you either don't have the experience or the skills to develop a good customer base. The only things that work for me are good advertising strategies or great recommendations from friends.
