My fiance and I are planning a wedding in Santo Domingo. We have been engaged for 3 years and havn't had the time to wed because he is always over seas in Iraq. So we finally have the time to do it but the resort that we are staying has there own photographer and I don't like the quality of his photos. I do not want to settle for less. Photos mean a lot to me.

- You can always look up a photographer on line in that area. Ask him to send you copies of some of his work. If you like it, talk to him/her, check the price and go with it. The other option is to bring someone with you that you have hired. I generally hated doing weddings, but if the price was right and the people were nice, I'd do it. There was an occasion that I had photographed a 4 year old girl for her mother, she was very pleased with the photos. She then moved away. About 4 years later, I got a call from her, she was in North Carolina, getting married to a preacher and asked if I would come and shoot it. She specified black and white, that's what she wanted. She sent me tickets and paid my fee, gave me a car to drive while I was there and a really nice hotel to stay at for 3 days. Paid for my meals and every expense. Needless to say, she was quite happy with the photos. It's your day, make it the best you can. If a good photographer is needed then get one. It's not that great an expense for a treasure to remember for the rest of your life.
