Why do elvis impersonators officiate weddings in vegas?
Was elvis a minister or something? I was just wondering the other day why fake elvis would be performing weddings... where did this come from? I realize they are ordained ministers- but Im just wondering exactly why elvis instead of a different person or character... what is the reason that it has become tradition to have elvis.. like some type of history or something?

- Hello Krystal! The only reason there is this is because there is a demand for weddings that elvis officiates. If your a huge elvis fan what better way to get married than to have the kind marry you. - There are ordained ministers in Las Vegas who have the legal right to married people in Clark County. They are just wearing the costume representing Elvis, not different than wearing a tux.
- Beause Elvis and Precilla got msrried in Vegas and they like to bring back the old tradition.
- Not only can you be married by Elvis, you can be married by King Tut, Merlin the Magician or have a Pirate, Rocky Horror or Star Trek Wedding - pretty much anything you can imagine.
