- I think it mostly depends on the area of living & the culture..here in Iran the groom & the bride's family both should buy many things.exp:the bride's family should buy robe de chambre, shaver, clothes including suit & tie & shoes & sac & bag...a good eu du perfum & so many other essential things..By the way the groom's parents should buy some beautiful expensive clothes, make up things but with a famous brand, shoes & other things..these are the things which they both buy before marriage ceremony.but for that special day & wedding party we mostly buy golds such as ring, bracelet &... Hope it helps you. By the way congratulations on your wedding..hope you a good memorable days toward
- You have to buy the groom's tux or suit (whatever he's going with) and his shoes etc as mentioned above. You give gifts to his family like his mother, father, brothers and sisters (or any other relative he's very close to but its not that important). You give them nice clothes for like party wear, which is quite different in India. If you want to get them Western clothes then i would go with designer. It's tradition to buy jewellery for the women in the family. You should look in India (if thats where the wedding is being held) as they have a lot of variety and great quality too. If you ask around people will tell you what is suitable for the wedding but you will have to haggle a hell of a lot to not get conned. You could give each family member something traditional from where you're from - I'm sure they'll like the personal touch and it'll be unique too.
