How do brides, civil war reenacting women, etc use the bathroom?

I regret the perhaps indelicate nature of the question - however I would like to find out. Suppose a bride is wearing a large dress that fastens in the back with so many buttons. How does she use the bathroom? Is there any solution other than getting completely undressed then redresesd?

1. I got married in just such a dress. It had a long row of pearl buttons down the back it had 3 layers and a hoop skirt undreneath to keep it all standing out like a big bell. To go you have to gather all layers and the hoop and carefully lift it up in back and then pull the panties down and ya go like always it takes a little practice so if you are gonna wear a dress like that get it a day or two beforehand so you can practice the gather and lift technique You must also practice sitting because if you don't move the hoops and sit just the right way, the whole thing will snap up in the front smack you in the face and give everyone a good look at whatever you chose to wear underneath.
