What kind of dresses to people wear to weddings?
I'm going to my friend's wedding and I have no idea what to wear since I don't really go to weddings. If someone could give me an example of a good dress to wear to a wedding that would be awesome. Thank you! @mhc: Sorry, but those dresses will make me feel like an old woman. @bottled down with water: Err... I don't have the invite with me, but I believe it's at a church then a hotel. @ana: I'm talking about the drab colors you moron.

- Don't wear white. Other than that, yeah just look nice.

The one on the top with a cream clutch and some plain, cute heels is what I'd wear.
- Totally depends on what kind of wedding it is. Is the ceremony in a church? If so, you need to have covered shoulders (no spaghetti straps or strapless). Is the reception in a fancy hotel? That means fancier dress. If the whole thing is outside in a garden, that means more casual. Unless the invitation specifically says something like "formal dress" or "black tie" or even "white tie" (the most formal) then most people will wear either slacks and a blouse, a knee length skirt and blouse, or a knee length not fancy dress. Edit: I liked mch's dresses. Here is one too: http://www.dillards.com/product/B.-Darlin-Sleeveless-Dress_301_-1_301_502869868?splashlink=dd_jr_tc1_Dresses_062311 but you'll need a shrug for the church.
- "those dresses will make me feel like an old woman". Jeez, lady, have some class. You're going to a wedding not a strip club.
