Know any wedding photographers to take photos for parkersburg/vienna wv area?
I have been looking at photographers lately. I can't seem to find any packages under $1,000. We are only wanting to spend no more than like $500 on photos. Does anyone know anywhere to look? I think more than $600 for wedding photos is ridiculous.

- Find a friend with a Canon Rebel to take your pictures.
- How long will your cake last? How long will your dress be used? How long will the food linger in your system? How long will the music play? How long will your pictures last? Make them the best of the lot.
- just grab someone that walks by with a canon rebel
- If you feel the craft and skill and knowledge of a truly good photographer is so worthless, then why even pay $600? It is far more "ridiculous" to pay even $500 to an amateur who THINKS they are a "professional photographer" just because they have a consumer level digital SLR. You will get exactly what you pay for, ... poorly lighted, poorly composed, poorly exposed snapshots. You will likely get nothing more than a CD of un-retouched digital files. You can then get equally cheap prints from Wal Mart or where ever and stick them in another cheap 4 x 6 photo "album". And what happens if something happens to the camera of your "photographer". No one in your price range is going to have back up equipment, so there go your photos.... too bad so sad. Don't expect a $500 "wedding photographer" to have any kind of contracts or guarantees either, so forget about taking any kind of legal action if something goes wrong. What will a TRUE PRO give you instead? How about the ability to THINK and envision and compose photographs that you will love forever. He / she will have proper off camera lighting and knowledge of how to truly USE their equipment to get the best results for YOU. Your $500 photographer knows nothing more than to put the camera in full auto and hope for the best. The pro will use high end software to retouch your photos so you and the image look their best. These will then be printed by a pro lab to high quality standards. Typically, all REAL pro wedding photographers now also offer beautiful albums of lay flat pages with elegantly designed collages of your photos. The pro will also have back up equipment in case of any failure, so there will be no excuse for you not getting your photos. And yes, this does NOT come cheap. Neither does any other skill that is done well. The glut of digital cameras in everyones hands has deluded the general population into thinking there is no longer any value or skill or craft in GOOD photography. There are PLENTY of brides who are SICK of their cheaply obtained wedding photos who have learned the hard way that a REAL pro photographer is still an important asset in today's world. With your attitude, why don't you just buy a couple dozen of disposable 35mm film cameras and hand them out to specific guests. Let them take all the snapshots they want, then give all the cameras to you to get the film developed. The photos will likely be better than what you will get with that $500 wanna be with their entry level digital SLR. steve
