What is customary for a guest to do at weddings?
Having had very little experience with American weddings, what is proper etiquette for a guest at a wedding? (Other than dress up very formally and sign the card for the bride and groom.) Is it customary to bring a wrapped gift? Anything else?

- You sent the gift to the bride's residence. Miss Manners would tell you that taking it to the wedding is tacky.
- You can get a gift and wrap it or put it in a nice gift bag and take to the reception. Or you can give a gift card. Some people give a nice wedding card and put the gift card, check, or cash in it. It depends on what you want to do. But basically all you will do is show up at the wedding and sign the guest book and be seated. Then after the ceremony if they have a receiving line then that is when you wish the couple well and acknowledge that you are there. Go to the reception if there is one and wait to be served or to go for the buffet and party dance if you want talk and mingle. Just have fun.
- A lot of people bring gifts to the wedding reception, but you can give just a card with a check or gift card. At the wedding reception eat, socialize, and DANCE!
