taking many pictures of brides wearing wedding dress in many places in China is a fad?

I've seen many brides and bridegrooms posing for pictures in many places in China. a little bit embarrased, because I've never seen these people in other countries. very unque only in China. many people in many contries like to take photos of brides and bridegrooms but they do inside the church, or their party. they donot do in public places, like chinese do in china.

1. ha ha, yes, this is a trend very unique to china. actually i took many photos of these wedding couples for my picture book (see link below) because its such a common site throughout china. the irony is that when chinese couples get married they do not wear western wedding atire; it's only used for vanity purposes when taking their portraits. i personally like this new trend, and am always happy to see the happy couples out in public.
2. Wedding pictures are very popular in all cultures. A lovely wedding picture of a beautiful bride and handsome groom is wonderful. I really have no idea what you are talking about by suggesting that wedding photos don't happen in other countries. That is absolutely not true. Weddings are huge events in all cultures, so of course there are wedding pictures and videos.
3. in US half of those wedding couples will end up in divorce. at least in china most couples stay married until old.
4. Well it is a very Chinese thing, and the result means that have absolutely beautiful wedding photos. My friend in Harbin (a northern Chinese city with many Russian influences) had photos taken wearing a Russian princess dress. Korean's also put a lot of effort into building a video and photo album of their wedding. Not really sure the exact orgins of the tradition, but it is a beautiful one.
5. It's a trend that has been growing for about ten or fifteen years now. It's only in recent history that such major photos are taken of a couple. Why not choose nice locations? An actual "wedding" takes place in a government office with the registration of a couple. They may have a reception months later in a restaurant. Where else will they take photos? Neither location is conducive to nice photography. It's a great time to celebrate the start of a new life together. I've always enjoyed seeing such couples and I often ask them if I may take their picture as well. I wish them well in their marriage. "China Photographer" . . . does Tom Martin know you are posing as him?
6. yes. couples go to studio and browse catalogs and albums, pick what they would like as background and setting. then they schedule the shoot. because there are many beautiful places in china, and nice scenery. even couples not wearing wedding dresses do this., even other countries do this, like singapore.
7. Well, in America we take graduation pictures in many places like that, so why not wedding pictures? I love the wedding pictures in China, I want mine to be as beautiful one day. To advertise the photography studio, models will get into wedding clothes and pose downtown. This is just an advertisement, not an actual bride and groom.
8. we don't do in church because we are rational atheists mostly. that's why we do in public, because it's PUBLIC, where everyone can be and be free.
