Why are goats a tradition at some weddings?
I saw something in a movie trailer once that it's a tradition at Mexican weddings to have a goat there. I asked my boyfriend, who is Mexican himself and he said he didn't know. He then asked his parents and they didn't know either. Does anyone out there know?

- I don't believe this is a Mexican tradition, but in some cultures it is tradition for the groom's family to present the bride's family with a goat or several goats in exchange for their daughter. Goats may also be used as a dowry in which case the bride's family would present the groom's family with a goat/goats in order to make their offer (their daughter) more attractive.
