What do you think of brides with tattoos?

I want to get my tattoo on my upper back or shoulder area, and it would for sure be visible when I eventually get married. I've gotten some comments about it like "brides with tattoos look trashy" or "you'll look perfect, except for your tattoo". I think brides with tattoos are beautiful and offbeat. What are your opinions?

  1. brides with tatoos are so tacky. The tatoos just ruin everything. I have seen one too many bad tattoos to consider getting one! It won't be worth it.
  2. Tattoos are cool but it may look really ugly in a wedding dress cuz generally women look pure and innocent in a dress but tattoos can make you look like a gangsta.
  3. get it after you get married
  4. I also think that brides could be beautiful with tattoos. I have 5 tattoos. All of them are very visible. I also just got married. Everybody at your wedding should not be looking at your tattoo, they should be looking at you. If you are comfortable with getting a tattoo, then you should go for it.
  5. i said it before and you just couldnt listen could ya.... some people's kids... i tell ya
  6. It irks me when girls say they want a tattoo, but don't want them visible in their wedding dress. I just don't get it. If you're afraid of people seeing your tattoo, then why the hell are you getting one in the first place? I for one hope to be covered in ink by the time I get married (hope my husband-to-be is, too! :-] ). My tattoos are a part of me and I'll wear them proudly.
  7. As long as it's not an ex lover's name or something like that, I don't see the problem. Tattoos that are well done, are art, why wouldn't you want to show off your personal piece of art on your wedding day?
  8. I would argue against getting it... tattoos are easy to get, but hard to undo... if you like body art just wait until after your wedding... and don't be like me and get something stupid that you regret later.. get a pretty tatt and you'll be fine.
  9. people who say it's trashy and that are normally stuck up snobs. It's your day like what you look like reflects your personality. I personally don't care if a bride has one or doesn't but i love tattoo's i think their cool. Bu who cares what other people say it's your bloody day not the stuck up snobs day that are stuck in that past and have no bloody life. live the way you won't and have the day you won't i say.
  10. I know you will give me the thumbs down, but it just makes girls look used. All these girls getting "inked"...its just a fad that will fade out as fast as their tattoos do.
  11. I love tattoos .. I have two personally HOWEVER .. I made sure they were in places where they would not show in a formal dress I guess i'm just not a fan of a wedding dress with a tattoo showing (unless you have that style all around) But sometimes when you have a beautiful dress on, etc. and just one tattoo sticking out on your back I'm not a fan of how it looks. I would consider covering it up for my wedding day if it were me, however if it's something you love and it's part of you - then why cover it?
  12. I am engaged though we have no actual wedding plans yet, we will be getting married someday. I also have 1 tattoo which is a nice butterfly and it happens to be on the back of my right shoulder so obviously it will probably be visible on my wedding day. But who cares, I got the tattoo because it means something to me and I want it to be visible. Why get one if you want to hide it all the time and at weddings and so on. You will be the one getting it and getting married with a tattoo, not the other ignorant, stuck up people who judge people on looks or your tattoos. If they don't like it, then tough, don't invite them to your wedding if there too judgmental too look past physical appearance. Its your body and your choices, no one elses :) I am also planning another one for my lower leg/ankle area for shortly after Christmas as well. Hope this helps :)
  13. I think brides with tattoos are trashy. They make a make up you can buy at some formal stores or pageant stores that will completely cover the tattoos.
  14. Get it after. You will not look as elegant or classy. with it, not trying to put you down just keepin it real.
  15. It's your wedding, do whatever makes you happy. and for all the naysayers out there, Don't be jealous because you live in a boring world where different=bad.
  16. A persons' tattoos are a part of that person. Whether they be a bride or otherwise doesn't matter. Live your life the way YOU want to live it. You are an adult and can make your own decisions, to hell with everyone else's opinions of what is "trashy" or not. You are an individual, you are unique, tattoos are an expression of your personality, your memories, your likes, hopes and dreams. There is no reason to stifle your artistic expression or appreciation based on what someone else may think. Be who you are and say what you feel because those who mind don't matter and those who matter don't mind. - Dr. Seuss
  17. to tat2k I used that for my senior quote! lol but anyways, life is just too short to give a crap about how people think of you. do what makes you happy because in the end, that's what count.
