  1. As far as I know, they are usually held on Saturday simply due to the fact that people work on weekdays and Saturday is more convenient. In the past when weddings were more simple and less fussy, people got married any day of the week, or on Sundays.
  2. NO symbolism whatsoever, as far as I know. The only thing being that most people are off on Sundays....able to travel home (if it's a distance), so it makes more sense to have a wedding on a Saturday when people can cut loose a bit!!
  3. While everyone is correct as far as why the tradition has held...the orginal reason for Saturday weddings was because it was the day before the Sabboth which is the day of rest. So, the idea that you say your vows and then spend the whole next day giving everything to God. And also Sunday is the day God "rested" if you will. So the couples say their vows and make this huge committment and then the next day is a day of rest. Hope this helps, good luck
