Brides, Brides to be. Would you use a Professional Floral Designer with training but little wedding experience?

Brides on a budget, would you use a floral designer who has experience with bouquets and arrangements and you like what you see? If you knew you could get an unreal price so that the designer could build her portfolio and she gave you samples of what she could design for you, would you use her?

  1. No. "The word "professional" implies a portafolio, references, a shop and a chamber of commerce certificate. You are an amateaur trying to get bussiness, so start by approaching your bussienss as such. You won't get any big ticket clients implying that you are a "professional" but yet, do not have any wedding experience . Good luck
  2. Yes, I would use a floral designer without much experience. They all have to start somewhere. Just make sure you do like what you see and she has a very reliable wholesale company from which to get the flowers. Go along with her, if you can, to pick out the best and be ready to change the design if the flowers you have picked are not worthy of your wedding day. Good Luck and have fun!
  3. of course, why not? sounds like a dream deal. as long as you see samples up front before you pay or sign a contract, that's fine. doesn't matter if they haven't done weddings before, if they can do bouquets and arrangements you like that's all that matters.
  4. Definitely! As long as you have looked at her portfolio and are pleased with what you see and you feel comfortable with her then I don't see why it would be a big deal. Just make sure to express every detail of how you want the floral arrangements so she knows exactly how you want it all to look.
  5. From what I see people get what they pay for seen way to many weddings ruined, that's the chance you take. If it goes good no complaints if it goes bad no complaints you got what you paid for. Only you have seen the samples. only you can decide
  6. yup sure will
  7. absolutely, i would use them. Any type of florist who is good with flowers can do wedding bouquets...the minute you go to someone who states they are professionals in weddings, the price goes up big time. I would not pay more when i can find someone who is just as capable.
  8. i sure would, as long as i got to see how my flowers would look first. its sometimes a better option because it can work out cheaper.
  9. Honestly yes because I know you'd work your a$$ off to make sure I'm happy and would do it at a great price Your trying to start your career and make a name for yourself you arent going to slack off if thats your goal... So i would make with the floral designer tell her exact what I want and have her work up a sample of a centerpiece to make decisions on...
  10. For me it depends on the budget. If I could afford a good florist then I would definitely use a professional with experience. If my budget was getting low or was just low from the beginning, I would go with the one with less experience who will give me a good amount of flowers for a cheaper price. We are helping each other out. He or She is getting the clients and portfolio exposed just by me recommending friends and family to them from my flowers being the best.
  11. Definitely! But that's because you mentioned price adjustment, which would compensate for lack of experience. Otherwise, it's a win-win for everyone, and not much different from using a well known restaurant chef who wants to start branching out into weddings.
  12. I definitely would. I love students, new grads, people starting their own businesses. I gave people a huge discount when I first started my business in order to build my portfolio and I could not have done it without people willing to take a chance on me. I have also used people trying to build their portfolios and have always been really pleased with the results.
