Is it possible to be hypnotized to control an emotion like crying at weddings, births and during movies?
I cry over the dumbest things, weddings, TV shows, corny movies and even commercials. Can a Hypnotist help with this sort of thing. My son is getting married soon and I don't want to make a fool out of myself by crying uncontrollably like I did my other son's wedding

- Crying is nothing to be ashamed of! Plus, the things you are crying about are pretty common occasions for copious amounts of tears, so let em flow!
- Hi , you are depressed. The joke at my house is that I cry at McDonald's commercials. I spoke with my doctor and he talked to me and asked some questions. Long story short Prozac to the rescue. Hormones, mid life, any way. I would look into it. As for hypnosis, yes it can be very effective. My very close friend is a hypnotist/psychologist and she uses it for this problem quite often. She says that it will be very helpful to you. She says to make sure you have a licensed hypnotist help you. Good Luck, and Congratulations on the wedding of your son Tina
- Would the wedding really be as rich if you didn't fully experience your emotions? There are so many in this world who can't feel their emotions or aren't in touch with their souls. You have a gift. In all earnestness, I wouldn't trade it in.
- Oh I don't think you should try to stop something like that. It means you have a beautiful spirit, and you feel things deeply. I cry at weddings, commericals, movies, books, good reunion stories, etc... However, when my beloved Grandad passed away last october, I found it so completely draining that I could not cry at his funeral. I was stunned. I sat there through the service with an empty ache. I would've rather cried.
